Kiah Hanson

Position: Associate

Kiah joined the Wills and Estates planning team at Tetlow Legal in January 2022, with a particular view to support the firm’s growing Estate Litigation and dispute practice.

In her previous role at a highly regarded boutique firm, Kiah worked across both Family Law and Wills and Estates litigation.  Kiah brings significant experience in assisting clients at all stages of disputes, including in the early stages, mediation, and in litigated matters resulting in Court hearings.

Kiah strives to achieve early and positive resolution to disputes whenever possible, but when litigation is required, she has a particular expertise in guiding clients through the stress and complexities of Court proceedings.  Her considered, thoughtful and calm approach to resolving disputes allows clients to navigate the legal process while providing strategic and timely advice along the way.

Kiah has appeared as solicitor advocate in both state and Federal courts, and has instructed counsel in both interlocutory and final hearings.

Wills, estate planning and probate are growing areas of Kiah’s practice.  Her ability to provide guidance to clients in the planning stage, to avoid the possibility of later dispute, is invaluable.

A highly empathetic solicitor, Kiah is able to quickly understand the individual needs and interests of each of her clients.  She is particularly adept in explaining complex legal jargon in an easy-to-understand, plain English way.

Outside work, Kiah enjoys travelling with her husband and enjoys the many dog walking opportunities Canberra has to offer.  She is a keen wine collector and has recently started (very slowly) learning the piano.
