Position: Senior Associate
Jason joined the Commercial and Property Law team at Tetlow Legal in 2021.
Before moving to Canberra, Jason previously practiced in the Hunter Valley region of New South Wales for several years, initially working in workers compensation before making the transition into commercial law. As a commercial solicitor Jason helped to build up a large and varied practice acting for individual clients, small to medium sized enterprises and larger entities.
Jason regularly assists clients with commercial and business matters including the purchase and sale of businesses, advising in relation to business contracts, preparation of employment contracts and reviewing or preparing shareholder and partnership agreements. Jason has also acted for clients in relation to debt recovery including the preparation of statutory demands and winding up applications of a debtor company.
A significant focus of Jason’s practice is commercial and retail leasing, acting for both landlords and tenants in both New South Wales and the ACT. Jason’s experience and knowledge of the applicable legislation in each jurisdiction ensures he can provide timely and tailored advice in relation to all aspects of the leasing process.
Jason is a personable and dedicated solicitor who takes great pride in providing legal advice in a clear, concise and easily understandable manner. During the process, Jason also ensures that his clients are always kept up to date on how their matter is progressing.
Jason has a particular focus on risk management and can provide appropriate and effective advice to clients on how best to minimise their commercial risk.
With his attention to detail, creative problem solving and holistic way of viewing commercial transactions, Jason works with his clients to provide the best possible outcome.
In addition to his commercial work, Jason also assists clients with their ACT commercial and residential conveyancing needs. His calm presence and practical approach provide great comfort to his clients and colleagues alike.
Outside of work, Jason enjoys spending his time in the company of his family and friends. He is a keen sports lover and is trying (slowly) to learn to speak French.
